Syngenta Biotechnology is a plant research division of Syngenta.
- History:
Syngenta Biotechnology absorbed the TMRI, which started as the NADII (Novartis Agricultural Discovery Institute, Inc.). Novartis became Syngenta, so the "N" in NADII didn't make sense anymore. They were over by Torrey Pines on a kind of mesa so Torrey Mesa Research Institute it was. At the end of 2002, Diversa and Syngenta announced an alliance where Diversa got some technology, Syngenta got some equity, and the TMRI people got to look for new jobs (a few went to Diversa and some went to Syngenta's NC headquarters). The TMRI website now maps to Syngenta Biotechnology. |
