- History:
Monsanto (the ag-biotech portion of what was Monsanto) was bought out by Pharmacia. Pharmacia, however, since spun Monsanto back out as an independent company (8/2002) in preparation for their own acquisition by Pfizer. Solutia is the chemical business spun off form Monsanto in 1997 (before the acquisition by Pharmacia?)
