Merrimack Pharmaceuticals was founded in 1993 as Atlantic BioPharmaceuticals Inc. (ABI). In Februrary of 2002 ABI took over the operations (and also the name) of Merrimack Pharmaceuticals, a company formed by MacBeath (who now sits on the SAB).
