- History:
Inovio was founded in 1983 as Biotechnologies and Experimental Research (BTX). In 1994 they changed their name to Genetronics Biomedical to highlight their drug and gene delivery division. In 2003 they sold the BTX (scientific research) division to Harvard Bioscience. In 2005 they acquired Inovio of Oslo, Norway, taking their name as well.
