History:

Hepatix went bankrupt in 1998. After emerging from bankruptcy, they moved to La Jolla, CA and changed their name to VitaGen. Despite the move, the company didn't last. After going out of business for the second time, Vital Therapies was created to acquire the assets of VitaGen and continue the development of their liver therapeutics.
