This is the final
(usually, anyway) resting place for companies that couldn't make
it. Many ran out of money, some decided to fold up shop before
all of the money disappeared, while others never really had money
in
the first place. These are the truly dead. Then there are the "mostly
dead." They're the ones who have merged out of existence.
Sometimes they live on as a department or division of the new company,
but
often they are completely absorbed with their independent identity
gone forever. Joining these companies are the ones who haven't
suffered such a macabre fate - those that scream out "I don't
want to go on the cart!" They've simply changed their name,
maybe because they've changed their focus or maybe because their
first name wasn't
that good.
Spend some time learning the lessons these
companies teach so that their history doesn't get repeated.
