Celera is a genomics-based diagnostics company.
- History:
Celera was formed in 1998 as a divison of Perkin-Elmer (which later became PE Corporation and then Applera), with an original focus on sequencing the human genome. By 2006 the focus had completely switched to diagnostics. They officially separated from Applera in 2008.
